PERLE DU POSÉIDON
In 1840, a freight ship was on its way from Belgium to Russia carrying very precious cargo: champagne, beer and porcelain. At that time those products were extremely expensive and most likely making their way to the Russian emperor, Tsar Nicholas I. Unfortunately, the ship got caught in a storm and was sunk. Its precious cargo remained in a watery tomb 180 feet deep off the stormy coast of Åland, Finland, for 170 years until a group of divers discovered them in 2010.
We want to finish the journey of this magnificent piece of Belgian brewing history and reintroduce the beer by following its original recipe and brewing process from 1840.
More to come soon.
